Day 1     London to  Kuching via Kuala Lumper

Arrive in Kuching international airport. Meet and transfer by air-conditioned van to Kuching Hilton.

Overnight Kuching Hilton.

Day 2: Bako National Park

Early departure for Bako National Park. Take a 35-minute drive to Bako Village. From the village, take a 25-minute boat ride to the park. Bako is one of the best places in Sarawak to see wildlife in a natural surrounding. The various types of animals spotted at Bako include proboscis monkeys, silverleaf monkeys, long tail macaques, wild boars, monitor lizards, and numerous species of birds. Tropical rainforest ranges from mangrove to kerangas (heath forest),tropical swamp vegetation, cliff vegetation and beach vegetation. There will be hiking through jungle trails, and visits to secluded beaches. Return to Kuching mid-afternoon. (Schedule may depend on tide).

Day 3: Kuching to Nanga Sumpa Longhouse Depart by air-conditioned bus or van for Batang Ai reservoir (4 1/2 hours). Journey through rural Sarawak, passing through pepper gardens, cocoa and rubber plantation. En route, a few stops will be made. Visit the colourful native market in Serian town where a variety of jungle produce such as edible ferns, bamboo shoots and unusual tropical fruit are on display. Visit a pepper garden and stop by to view wild orchids and several species of pitcher plants. Lunch en route. Upon arrival at the Batang Ai reservoir, proceed by longboat (1 1/2 hrs) upriver to Nanga Sumpa.
Settle in at Borneo Adventure’s jungle lodge. After dinner proceed to the longhouse across the river. Relax on the ruai (common verandah) and spend time with the Iban people. Learn about their culture and enjoy some local rice wine.

Day 4: Nanga Sumpa Longhouse

Following breakfast, hike the jungle trails along the river. Our destination is the scenic Enseluai Waterfall. Time to relax, swim, explore the rainforest and have lunch or try fishing Iban-style. Return to the lodge. Dinner is served in the lodge with local delicacies to enhance the meal. After dinner visit to the longhouse. Woven blankets and handicrafts are available for display upon request and may be purchased directly from the longhouse people.

Day 5: Return Nanga Sumpa Longhouse to Kuching

Following breakfast, depart down river by longboat, then by coach. Lunch en route. Proceed to Kuching.

Day 6: Kuching-Kota Kinabalu.

Free at leisure until transfer to Kuching airport for flight to Kota Kinabalu.
Upon arrival, transfer to Shangri La’s Tanjung Aru Resort.

Day 7: Kinabalu Park

Morning, depart for a 2-hr journey through breathtaking scenery to Kinabalu Park (88km from Kota Kinabalu). Take a guided nature walk with the Park’s naturalist and your nature tour guide. Lunch at the Park’s restaurant. View a slide presentation at Park’s Exhibition Hall and explore

Following breakfast, depart down river by longboat, then by coach. Lunch en route. Proceed to Kuching.

Day 8: Kota Kinabalu-Sandakan: Selingan Turtle Island

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for early morning flight to Sandakan (flight MH 2042, ETD 07.30 / ETA 08.10). Meet in Sandakan Airport. Transfer to the jetty for a boat ride to Selingan Island. It takes approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to the island. Upon arrival, check in to your chalet and have lunch at the cafeteria. In the afternoon you are at your own leisure and can go swimming or snorkelling. After dinner, wait for the ranger’s signal to go to the beach to witness one of the turtles laying it’s eggs. You may also be able to watch a park ranger releasing newly hatched baby turtles into the sea.

Day 9: Sepilok Orang Utan Centre – Kinabatangan, Sukau.

At 07.00 a.m., depart Selingan Island for Sandakan by boat. After breakfast in Sandakan, drive for approximately 30 minutes to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Proceed to the free roaming area feeding platform. At approximately 10.00 a.m. you will see the feeding of the Orang Utans. At the centre man’s closest relative “the Orang Utan” is being rehabilitated for a wild existence in it’s natural habitat.
Depart Sepilok and transfer to the boat jetty in Sandakan. Take an hour long boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you will have your lunch at Abai Village. This is a wonderful journey of discovery from the waters of the Sulu Sea through a magnificent scenery of the mangrove forest. After lunch, cruise up-river to Sukau village in search of primates, especially the endemic proboscis monkey, birds and other wildlife. Arrive at Sukau, check in at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. In the late afternoon, take another river cruise to Menanggul River, a small tributary of the Kinabatangan river.

Return for dinner and stay overnight at Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Included)

Day 10: Sukau – Sandakan – Kota Kinabalu – Departure.

After breakfast, cruise down-river by boat and return to Sandakan. This is another opportunity for wildlife sightings during this approximately 2.5 hours journey. Upon arrival at the jetty, visit the colourful local market in Sandakan. Drop in to a local restaurant for lunch. After lunch transfer to Sandakan airport for flight to Kota Kinabalu (MH 2047 ETD 14.00 / ETA 14.45). (Breakfast and Lunch included)

Kota Kinabalu / Kuala Lumpur

Transfer to; The Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, for two nights, breakfast is included.

Transfer to; The Cameron Highlands Resort, for two nights, breakfast is included.


Transfer to Kuala Besut then cross over to; Perhentian Island, for two nights

Transfer to; Lang Tengah, for three nights

Transfer to the airport
